Reading Response #1: Kaiya Steele
Book: R.L. Stine “The Rich Girl"
While
reading the response I liked that Kaiya took quotes from the story and
explained how they connected to what she was saying. What I found interesting
was that she described the feeling of the story. Like she said that she enjoyed
the story because it was dramatic. Then she gave an example. I think that was
good because the example given is backing up the big idea. Also what was
interesting was when she wrote what the characters felt. For example she wrote “which
was shocking to the protagonist of the story”. I think that helps the person
reading the response get a sense of the characters feelings.
Reading Response #2: Andreina Torres
Book: Before We Were Free
What
I like about the response is the quick and short summery. It introduces the character and the settings. The
conflict of the story is clearly stated. What made reading it interesting was
the format. At first the she complicates the conflict of the story. She wrote
if and then statements. That made it interesting because she wrote the effects
of one decision. Then that thought or statement would be contradicted. I also
like that after their two choices were given she explains what the character
did. Lastly I enjoyed that the issue of the book was connected to a real life
issue. It was amazing how she could compare the characters situation, to
something that she has experienced or seen in real life.
