reading response on theme

                  In the book "If I Stay" Mia was in a car crash with her family. By the time help reaches her she is badly injured. at the hospital she is in a coma. Throughout the whole time Mia is outside her body, she watches herself as she is being treated at the hospital. Her family and friends come in to see her. As they do she recalls some tough choices that she has had to make that relate to those she loves.

               One of the important choices Mia remembers had to do with her best friend Kim. In the beginning they did not get along. When Kim was new in her school she had been quiet. She participated in physical education causing Mia to be chosen. Then they were both paired for a project, and right away they argued about it. Mia didn't like that people assumed that since both Kim and her were both quiet that they were friends. After awhile they got mad at each other so they decided that they were gonna have a fight. After class they went outside and started fighting while their classmates surrounded them. After their fight they were both hurt badly. When they saw each other they just laughed. Mia's decision was to after talk to Kim. She decided that they would talk and they became friends. When she is at the hospital and Kim comes to visit she remembers how she doesn't regret the decision that she made of becoming friends with Kim.

                   Another choice is when Mia started going out with Adam. When he comes into the hospital and is crying over her he realizes that she really is important to her. She remembers how at first she was not sure about Adam. She thought that he would not like her since she was into classical music, and he was more into rock. When he asked her to go to a concert she was unsure. at the concert she questioned his intentions of asking her to go to the concert. This was because he had said it was more just to hang out. He then confessed that he did like her. Still after she didn't know if she would call their relationship official. When she asked him that if he minded that she was quiet and not as outgoing as he was, he told her that he liked her just as she was. When he was crying because he wanted to see her she realize that he meant what he had been saying at that moment. She then realized that she made the right choice of saying yes to Adam.

         This connects to real life because you have to constantly make choices that effect your future. choosing to say yes or no to a relationship or friendship effects your relationship with that person in the future.It effects the way they treat you. also some choices may change your life in a big way. Constantly having to make these choices is hard. you have to pick wisely what your next steps will be.
